SKIL hosts picnic to thank community for support
PITTSBURG, Kan. – The SKIL Resource Center in Pittsburg hosted its free annual Customer Appreciation Picnic on September 10th, 2020.
Keeping COVID-19 precautions in mind, folks could drive up, walk up or roll up to the event.
The goal of the event is to thank customers and the community for supporting the local non-profit center, which supports independent living for people with disabilities.
While Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has discussed freezing funding to the services, the President of SKIL remains confident it will be able to serve those in need.
Picnics are held in towns where SKIL has a branch office. Independence and Fredonia have upcoming picnics this year.
