Shots fired during Joplin home invasion

Police block off Joplin crime scene

Shots were fired Saturday afternoon during a home invasion in Joplin.

According to Sergeant William Davis of the Joplin Police Department, two men entered the residence at 1302 South Missouri Ave. around 1 PM. Police say they fired of 2 or 3 gunshots before running from the home.

Law enforcement spent the day actively searching for the two men and conducting interviews to determine their identities.

A victim in the home suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
