The Shawnee Tribe in Miami, Oklahoma plans to immerse the community in their rich history through the building of a cultural center. The 6,500 sq. ft. facility will be located right off of interstate 44 behind the Shawnee Administration Office and will replace the pond that is currently there. Inside the expected $1 million project will be many different exhibits and much more. Second chief, Ben Barnes, says he wants the building to reflect the culture, and not just facilitate it.
