Severe Weather Chances Stay Away for the Evening
Even though we had some rain and a few t-storms to start the evening, we didn’t have to worry about anything strong or severe. With a break going into tonight, we won’t have to worry about strong or severe t-storms as we get your Wednesday started. Any severe weather concerns for the rest of the evening will be confined to two areas. With a weak, low-pressure center passing along the KS/NE border, that will work with a passing upper-level disturbance to keep a marginal threat northwest of us. A few more storms this evening out that way could bring some wind gusts, some hail and maybe a tornado or two. The other risk for severe weather this evening will be confined to the Gulf Coast. With a marginal/slight risk from New Orleans to Tallahassee and as far north as Jackson, MS, Tropical Storm Gordon could bring a chance for some t-storms with high wind and some spin-up tornadoes embedded with the stronger rain bands.
