Seneca’s Taylor Mailes signs to Northwest Missouri Track & Field

Seneca High School senior Taylor Mailes signed her Letter of Intent to continue her athletic career in college on Tuesday afternoon.

Mailes is headed to Maryville, Missouri next season to join the Northwest Missouri State Track and Field team.

Northwest Missouri is getting a good one in Mailes. She has placed in the state long jump competition in each of her first three years of high school, including winning the class 3 individual state championship in 2017.

“Something about Northwest was just so different. It immediately felt like home when I went there,” Mailes says, “I got to meet with the track team and of course their track is pretty nice.”

For Mailes, knowing the recruiting process is out of the way is exciting, but also a relief.

“To actually be able to sign and to commit and be ready for that next stage in life is awesome,” Mailes adds, “I’m ready to go with coach Masters. I think he’s going to help a lot, and so is actually having a track to practice on. It’s nerve-racking, but I know God’s got me and this is the plan that I think he has for me.”
