Seneca’s Atkins signs to College of the Ozarks

Atkins will play 1st base for the Bobcats next season.

SENECA, Mo. – Seneca High School senior Titus Atkins signed on Thursday afternoon to continue his baseball career in college.

Atkins signed to join the program at the College of the Ozarks, where he will play first base for the Bobcats.

“It’s just special to me. I worked my whole life for it,” Atkins says, “Me and my dad, no matter how many times we were on the field, I did it for this. I grinded for this. Just making it to the next level, that’s all that mattered to me.”

Atkins says he knew pretty quickly College of the Ozarks was the right fit, and that signing on Thursday is a weight off his shoulders.

“It’s been on my mind for a long time,” Atkins says, “Where am I going to play? What’s going to happen? Am I even going to make it to the next level? Signing that dotted line, it’s going set in stone where I’m going to be playing for the next four years. I went to a camp there, and it just happened to be a perfect place. Coach Richardson and the atmosphere around it, I knew it was home for the next four years.”
