Schibi tabbed as next Parsons head football coach
Jeff Schibi has accepted an offer to become the head coach of the Parsons High School football program.
PARSONS, Kan. – Parsons High School assistant coach Jeff Schibi has accepted an offer to become the next head coach of the Vikings’ football program.
Schibi’s hiring is pending board approval. According to their website, the next Parsons School Board meeting will be on June 15th.
“This is a dream come true for me and my family,” Schibi says, “I have a vision to build Parsons into one of the premier football programs in the area that will consistently compete for championships. I know that doesn’t happen overnight, but I believe in the people of this community to have my back and support me. My wife Breah and I love Parsons, and we are here for the long haul. I want to be the head football coach at Parsons for the rest of my career and win a lot of football games, while building boys into good young men who prosper in life once football is no longer an option.”
Schibi has been an assistant coach for the team for the last two seasons. In his first year with the team (2018), the Vikings went 8-3 and won their first playoff game in 42 years.
He will follow Kurt Friess as head coach of the team, after Friess resigned in early May.
