Royal Height’s Kindergarten students skip traditional graduation ceremony; tour “NASA exhibit” instead

Friday was a big day for kindergarten students at Royal Height’s Elementary in Joplin.

It was Graduation Day. But the kids decided to skip the traditional graduation ceremony and instead went for a space themed event.

People in attendance were invited to tour the students “NASA Space exhibit” complete with posters, writing pieces, and planet models.

“It’s the end of the year, they’re excited for summer, I’m excited for summer, so this was a great project to get them more excited and yet still focused on learning and education as well,” says kindergarten teacher Chelsie Brooks.

Each graduate walked away with a diploma and a special award for their work this school year.
