Ronald “Ronnie” Stewart
November 6, 1946 - September 22, 2020
Ron “Woodchopper” Stewart, 73, of Montgomery, Texas passed from earth to his heavenly home on September 22, 2020, surrounded by family.
He was born November 6, 1946 in Arma, KS to the late Virginia & Robert Stewart. He graduated from Arma high school and in his youth he was an Eagle Scout, something he was very proud of. After high school he joined the united states navy as a radar technician and served during Vietnam.
After leaving the navy, he began his career as a truck driver which continued through most of his life. He took great pleasure in his work and traveled all over the united states. He loved to tell countless stories of those travels and we loved to hear them! Another love of his was felling trees for firewood. His CB Handle was Woodchopper! Oh, the stories we will miss …
What mattered most to Ron were his kid- Dorman, Brian, Rodney, Jason, Teresa, Rhonda, & Randy. He adored them and his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To his beloved family members he was affectionately called “pops”.
In recent years, he has resided with his daughter Rhonda and son-in-law Norman Bielamowicz in Montgomery, TX.
Viewing for friends and family will be held at Eickenhorst funeral home in Conroe, Tx on Thursday September 24 from 6 – 8pm. Ron desired to be laid to rest with his brother and mother in Pittsburg, Kansas. There will be a graveside service held at the garden of memories cemetery in Pittsburg on Saturday, September 26th at 11:30AM.
Paul bearers are Payton, Dawson, Jeremy, Cameron, Russell, Kole with honoree being Robert “Butch” Prideaux, a dear lifelong friend of Ron’s.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert (Bob) Stewart. We know Ron is now at peace and for this we are thankful.
