Roelfs stepping down as Pittsburg boys head coach after 21 years
Kiley Roelfs led the team to four straight SEK league titles from 2016-2019.
Kiley Roelfs is stepping down as the Pittsburg High School boys basketball head coach.
Roelfs spent 21 years with the team, going 248-202 overall. He led the Purple Dragons to four cosecutive SEK league title from 2016-2019, and led them to the state tournament three straight years from 2017-2019.
The Purple Dragons ended last season with a 13-8 overall record, falling in the first round of the sub-state tournament.
Roelfs is not the only SEK boys head coach to step down after more than 20 years this offseason. Fort Scott head coach Jeff DeLaTorre decided to step away from coaching earlier this year after 25 years as a head coach.
