RIVERTON, Kan. – Riverton High School senior Matti Price signed on Wednesday afternoon to continue her track and field career at the college level.
Price signed to join Russ Jewett and the Pittsburg State women’s track and field team Wednesday at Riverton High School.
She still has one season to go at Riverton, but Price has already had an impressive career with the Rams. She’s a 7X state qualifier, and a 2X state champion sprinter, winning 3A titles in both the 100-meter and 400-meter races last season.
“Coach Jewett is actually the first coach that ever reached out to me,” Price says of her new head coach, “He was consistent the whole time, constantly checked on me, seeing how my seasons were going. Even like off-season. Also, I knew that the girls team had such a tradition of winning and doing really well, so I wanted to be a part of that.”
