WYANDOTTE, Okla. – The Wyandotte Nation announces two casinos that will temporarily close in effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Officials released the following on March 16:

“River Bend Casino and Hotel and the Lucky Turtle Casino, properties of the Wyandotte Nation, has decided to temporarily close as part of our continuing effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and keep our employees and guests safe.”

“It is now apparent that this is a public health crisis that requires major collective action if we are to slow its progression. The closure will be effective Tuesday, March 17 at 2 pm and is expected to be closed until March 31, after which time we will evaluate the situation. We will plan to reopen our properties as soon as it is safe to do so and we will continue to support our employees, guests, and communities in every way that we can during this period of closure.”

Officials say employees will be paid for these two weeks without having to use their own earned PTO (Paid Time Off).
