Rescue teams help campers surrounded by Shoal Creek flood water

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. – Teams rescue a group of campers who became surrounded by flood water about four miles southeast of Saginaw in Newton County, Missouri (36.98N, 94.43W).

A preliminary report on the National Weather Service website shows the rescue happened around 9:00 a.m. today, May 26, 2020.

According to the Emergency Manager, Shoal Creek water levels rose and backed up into a tributary. That’s when a group of campers became surrounded by water.

The report states it was a non-life-threatening water rescue.
