The Coffeyville Fire Department helps other agencies in flood water rescues today.

Around 11:43 am on August 8th, The Edna Fire Department requested help to rescue a woman. The motorist was stranded in high water near Brown Road and 1000 in Labette County. A three man boat crew rescued her from the roof of her car without any injuries.

Also this morning, the Coffeyville Fire Department helped Cherryvale Rural Fire evacuate a resident from their home after high water had risen into it.

Authorities say with more heavy rains forecasted to remember – Turn around, Don’t Drown.
