Remains in homicide investigation identified as Greene County resident

GREEN COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities identify remains in a Greene County homicide investigation.

On Friday, June 4, 2021, employees of the Greene County Highway Department found remains while working near Farm Road 59 and Farm Road 94 in Bois D’Arc.

Detectives say the remains are those of as Russell Long, 39, of Willard, Missouri.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating this as a homicide. Family last saw Long on March 31, 2021 around 8:00 p.m. He was at a family member’s home near Farm Road 76 and State Highway UU in Willard.

Long was reported as missing on April 6, 2021.
