Joplin resident gathers signatures to recall city council members
JOPLIN, Mo. — A petition organizer is gathering signatures to recall 6 of 9 members of the Joplin City Council.
Abby Covington believes the council members should be removed from office for failing to protect the federal and state constitutional rights of citizens when they passed a mask mandate on November 19th.
The petition would require more than 7,600 signatures to force a vote. Covington believes she can get enough signatures to bring it to a vote in April.
