Rain finally makes a return to the region

Scattered storms in the forecast

Milder conditions tonight with increasing clouds and moisture ahead of the next storm system.

Highs tomorrow will mainly be in the lower 80’s with increasing chances of showers and storms especially down in NE OK spreading northward Monday night.

Lows will mainly be in the  60’s Tuesday morning as rain and storms start to shift eastward. Amounts are expected to be under an inch for this round of storms.

Tuesday will see highs in the upper 70’s and low 80’s with storms mainly east by afternoon. Gusty south winds will increase the fire danger levels across the entire area.

Wednesday morning will see rain chances mainly north with a cold front approaching from the NW. This front will spark additional rain and storm chances across the area by Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Tuesday will have only a marginal risk of severe storms mainly in the NW sections. A widespread severe event is not expected with this particular storm system. We will continue to monitor the situation and update as needed.

Another frontal system will approach next weekend which could include additional chances of rain but the chances are low at this point. Much cooler weather will follow the front however with some northern areas likely seeing freezing or below freezing for the first time this fall.
