Rain chances sneak in by the middle of the week
Minor accumulations by the middle of the week
Joplin, MO — After we enjoyed a quiet Sunday, we’ll keep things calm and chilly to start the new work week out. By the middle of the week, we will see an upper level disturbance out west sneak in. With the way things look, that disturbance will bring rain chances in for Wednesday and Thursday.
Thankfully, we don’t anticipate seeing any heavy rain or t-storm chances with this system. With the area behind on rainfall and some spots remaining in a drought, we could use any rain that will come our way.
The system wants the majority of the accumulating rain to set up in Missouri and Arkansas. Our corners of Missouri and Arkansas could see rain amounts ranging between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. The amounts look to trail off as you head into southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma.
