Purdy woman killed in train collision, two grandchildren flown to hospital
PURDY, Mo. – A train collides with a car in Purdy, Missouri, leaving one woman dead and her two grandchildren with serious injuries.
59-year-old Fransisca Perez Salas, of Purdy, was driving east on Washington Street at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday afternoon when she failed to yield for a train.
The train struck Salas’s vehicle.
Salas was pronounced dead at the scene and her two passengers, a 3-year-old, and an 8-year-old, were transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield by helicopter.
