RELEASE FROM PITTSBURG STATE ATHLETICS:

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Pittsburg State Volleyball junior Ashlen Schwartz and senior Hailey Hansford have earned Honorable Mention All-MIAA recognition, the league announced on Tuesday (November 17).

Schwartz, a 5-3 libero from Eureka, Kan. earns her second All-MIAA honor, as she also earned honorable mention honors in 2014. She played in 24 of the team’s 27 matches on the season. She recorded 409 digs in 82 sets played for 4.99 digs per set. Her 1122 digs on the season rank seventh all-time in school history.

Hansford is a 5-10 setter from Prairie Village, Kan. This is her third All-MIAA honor. She earned third team recognition in 2013 and honorable mention in 2014. She recorded 464 assists in Pitt State’s 6-2 system. She led the teamin service aces with 10. She also averaged 1.78 digs per set. Her 3220 career assists rank third in school history.
