PITTSBURG — Single game tickets for the second half of the Pittsburg State Gorilla’s football season will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Gorilla fans can’t wait.

“I’ll probably be in line at about a quarter till eight that morning,” said John Ketterman, a longtime fan of Gorilla football. “I have a certain section I’ve been in for 25 years and I want to make certain I get my seat. I’m very excited about our defense and the offense is starting to gel so I think this could be an exciting year.”

Ketterman’s excitement, and that of his fellow fans, is certain to grow once he learns that Pittsburg State is bringing back the “Family 4-Pack” package for the second half of the season.

Fans who take advantage of the “Family 4-Pack” will receive two free-child reserved seats with the purchase of two-adult reserve seats at full price. In other words, fans will be able to purchase four tickets for $40.

The package, which is limited to one per patron, will be available for purchase at the Pitt State Ticket Office beginning at 8:30 a.m. on September 18, or by calling 620.235.4796.

Online purchases of the “Family 4-Pack” are not available and some restrictions apply. Fans may purchase additional reserved tickets at the normal purchase price of $20.

“We want fans of all ages to be able to enjoy game day at Carnie Smith Stadium,” said Jim Johnson, Pitt State’s director of intercollegiate athletics. “Pitt State is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and this package is our way of thanking Gorilla Nation for its loyalty.”

The second half of the season features a Hall of Fame Game clash with the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State University on Oct. 6, a Homecoming matchup with the University of Central Missouri Mules on Oct. 20, and a regular season home finale with the Washburn Ichabods on Nov. 3.

“The schedule has something for everyone,” Johnson said. “Tremendous matchups, Homecoming festivities and family fun. It’s an exciting time for our players, coaches and fans.”

The No. 23 ranked Pittsburg State Gorillas (2-0, 2-0 MIAA), winners of eight consecutive games dating back to 2017, will travel to Tahlequah, Okla., Saturday where they will play Northeastern State University (0-2, 0-2 MIAA). Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Fans can listen to the game on the Gorilla Sports Network or online through the official Gorilla Experience app. A live video stream of the game will also available, for a small fee, through The MIAA Network (
