The Pittsburg State University baseball team will face Arkansas Tech University in a non-conference game Tuesday (Apr. 16) at Arvest Ballpark, home of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, at Springdale, Ark. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. (CDT).

The Gorillas are 20-17 on the season. Pitt State has won six of its last seven games including taking two of three games in a weekend series against Emporia State. ATU is 27-15 overall. The Wonder Boys has won six of eight games including a twinbill split against Southern Arkansas Monday (Apr. 15).

The Gorillas enter Tuesday’s action batting .243 as a team and scoring 5.4 runs per game. Pitt State pitchers have a 4.03 team ERA with 311 strikeouts in 325.7 innings of work.

Junior outfielder Chaz Burgess leads the squad with a .313 batting average. He’s scored 17 runs, hit seven doubles and five home runs and driven in 20 runs. Senior utility player Alex Achtermann also has batted .299 with 20 runs scored, five doubles, three home runs and 19 RBIs.
