Federal prosecutors have charged a disbarred Kansas attorney with embezzling from a bankruptcy estate.

The government alleges Christopher O’Brien of Wichita was acting as an attorney in the bankruptcy case of RCCA Well Service, LLC, when he stole more than $132,000 belonging to the estate between 2011 and 2014.

Documents filed in federal court in Kansas charge O’Brien with one count of embezzlement and two counts of making false statements.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 6.
