Progressive Products, Inc Recognized as Exporting Business of the Year at 2020 Kansas Small Business Awards

Progressive Products, Inc. (PPI) develops components for pneumatic conveying systems.

PITTSBURG, Ks. – Progressive Products, Inc was recognized as the Kansas SBDC at Pittsburg State University Exporting Business of the Year at the annual Kansas Small Business Awards on March 5th in Topeka.

Since 1979, Progressive Products, Inc. (PPI) has been developing components for pneumatic conveying systems. Their components are in use in pneumatic conveying systems in factories, grain handling facilities, chemical plants and other installations throughout the United States and internationally.

Todd Allison, president of PPI, contacted the Kansas Small Business Development Center seeking assistance with general sales strategies to help reinvigorate the business. Power plants had given PPI a huge boost in sales in trying to meet a 2015-2016 compliance date, but after that wave, sales began declining and PPI needed to redirect its efforts.

With the help of Kansas SBDC advisor, Randy Robinson, PPI’s international reach has grown, as exports are up over 300%.

“[The SBDC] has been really helpful and brought new focus to the sales team,” said Allison. “Randy has been working with us fairly consistently over the last year, and his advice has improved our efforts to increase our gross sales, establish ourselves with more new clients, and reduce internal processing errors.”
