CARTERVILLE, Mo. – Shirley’s Tavern in Carterville, Missouri was packed Sunday as local fans came out to support their Kansas City Chiefs while getting a bite to eat.
Food was a big part of this viewing party since it was also a potluck party filled with food made by 4-Staters.
The fact that a place where food is served as encouraging outside food to be brought in certainly makes it a unique celebration.
The owner’s at Shirley’s Tavern say they’ve been holding potluck parties for a while now, and plan to keep the tradition going on Super Bowl Sunday.
Shirley’s originally opened in 1983 and burned down a few years ago. It was reopened in 2019.
