After a chase, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office later arrested Tanner on Highway 125, south of Fairland, Oklahoma.

Authorities are still investigating the events that led up to the shooting.

“Unfortunately, something fueled that to get it to escalate. Don’t know what yet, and that’s something we’re going to investigate to find out what happened, and hopefully determine what caused this, or what made it escalate and put all the pieces together,” said Thomas Anderson, Miami Chief of Police.

Chief Anderson says the woman suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was flown to a hospital for treatment.

So far, there’s been no update on her condition. Her name has not yet been released.
