Police continue investigating 14-year-old Tracy Pickett’s disappearance

JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin Police ask for the public’s help in a 1992 missing persons case.

Tracy A. Pickett has been missing since August 12, 1992. Over the past 29 years, investigators have followed up on numerous leads and tips trying to solve this case.

Tracy was 14-years-old when she disappeared. She is a white female with blonde hair and green eyes. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 115 pounds.

On August 11, 1992, Tracy Pickett spent the night at a friend’s home in Webb City, Missouri.

The next morning, another guest offered to take her to her home in Joplin. The person claimed he dropped Tracy off safely near a pawnshop in Joplin. No one heard from Tracy again. Police believe she disappeared involuntarily.

The Joplin Police Department released a picture of Tracy and age progression photos of what she may look like today.

As another year passes, the Joplin Police Department says they “strongly encourage anyone in the community who has any information to come forward.”
