Pittsburg’s Turner signs to Wichita State track and field
Turner is an 11X All-State performer
PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg High School senior Faith Turner signed her letter of intent on Wednesday afternoon to continue her track and field career in college.
Turner is headed to Division I Wichita State next season.
Wichita State is getting one of the best in the state. Turner is an 11X All-State performer, has won four state championships and has earned 9 individual SEK league titles.
“Now I know when I go to state, that I’m set and I don’t have anything to worry about,” Turner says, “I can just go do what I love to do. I just really want to be pushed, and I feel like it’s a place where I can be pushed.”
Turner says she will be a jumper for Wichita State, but will also train to be a sprinter, with the possibility of being a part of relay teams.
“It feels really great. When I went to the visits, they had other recruits there and I really meshed well with most of them,” Turner says of signing to Wichita State, “It’s relieving not having all that pressure on me any more.”
