Pittsburg’s Javon Grant named 5A Player of the Year
Grant posted 29.8 points per game this season, leading Pittsburg to a 17-7 record and an appearance in the state tournament.
PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg High School senior guard Javon Grant has been named the “Sports in Kansas” 5A Player of the Year.
Grant had a monster season for PHS, posting 29.8 points per game. He also added 5.7 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.8 steals per contest. He finished the year with eleven 30-point games and three 40-point games.
Grant ends his Pittsburg career as the program’s all-time leading scorer, with more than 1,500 total points.
Pittsburg finished the season with a 17-7 overall record, earning an SEK league championship and a sub-state championship along the way.
