Pittsburg’s Dylan White commits to Pitt State football
White was the KS 4A Offensive Player of the Year
PITTSBURG, Kan. — Pittsburg High School wide receiver Dylan White will be staying in Pittsburg to play college ball.
White announced on Sunday that he has committed to play for the Pittsburg State Gorillas next season.
The senior wide receiver had offers from Washburn, Southeast Missouri, North Dakota State, Illinois State and Western Illinois, but ultimately decided Pittsburg State is where he wants to be.
“They were the first school to give me an offer, and the first school to believe in me,” White says, “I want to be part of a winning program and a winning tradition.”

White finished his senior season at Pittsburg HS with 857 receiving yards, scoring 18 total touchdowns along the way. He was named the 2018 “Sports in Kansas” 4A Offensive Player of the Year, and has been selected to play in the 2019 Kansas Shrine Bowl, which will be in Dodge City in June.

His 2018 effort comes after racking up 690 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior.
White is glad to have the recruiting process behind him, and glad to be staying in Pittsburg.
“I’m excited to get to stay close to my family. I want them to be able to watch me play,” White adds, “Just getting the process behind me, it’s a huge relief. I wanted to find the right team and the right coaches that believed in me.”
