Pittsburg’s Butcher signs to Washburn football

LJ Butcher will play safety for the Ichabods.

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg High School senior LJ Butcher signed on Wednesday to continue his football career in the MIAA with the Washburn Ichabods.

Butcher was a versatile player his senior year for the Purple Dragons. He finished with 305 yards and 3 touchdowns on offense, while racking up 49 tackles and 2 forced fumbles on defense, earning All-Area honors as a DB.

“My goal is just get in there work hard and just make a name for myself right from the beginning,” Butcher says, “I just want to get all the trust from the coaches as soon as I get there.”

Butcher will play safety for the Ichabods.
