Pittsburg wrestling finishes 3rd at Kan-Okla Classic in Caney
First team trophy for the Dragons under LC Davis
CANEY, Kan. — The Pittsburg wrestling team won its first team trophy under head coach LC Davis over the weekend.
Pittsburg finished 3rd out of 23 teams at the Kan-Okla Classic in Caney, Kansas.

106 lb – sophomore Gabe Beaman goes 2-2 to finish 5th.
113 lb – freshman Corbin McIntier goes 3-1 to finish 3rd.
120 lb – freshman JJ White goes 2-1 with one fall, losing in OT in the finals to finish 2nd in his first high school wrestling tournament.
126 lb – sophomore Seth Gann goes 2-2 to finish 5th.
145 lb – senior Kadeyn Dixon goes 2-1 to finish 2nd.
160 lb – sophomore Matt Smith finishes 7th
On the girl’s side, junior Mercedes Angeles had a nice day in her first career wrestling tournament. Angeles went 2-0 on the day with 2 falls to win 1st place.
