Pittsburg State University Students Reflect During Mlk Remembrance

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg State University students gather today to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. day on campus.

At 6:15 p.m., students and community members gathered at the Oval to remember Dr. King’s life. Following a short presentation, participants held a candlelit vigil in honor of Dr. King.

Overall, the event includes:

  • an opening song
  • the reading of King’s historic “Letter from the Birmingham Jail”
  • reflections on how King’s dream is being realized in peoples’ lives today.

The Office of Student Diversity at PSU, along with the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity hosted the event.

PSU will live stream the observance here. If you are unable to watch, the school will archive the event for future viewing.
