PITTSBURG, Ks. – A peaceful protest took place in Pittsburg on Sunday as friends of Tylei Messer disputed conclusions about her recent death.

Authorities say following an investigation, they’ve determined that 23-year-old Pittsburg woman Tylei Messer died from suicide which resulted from a self-inflicted injury.

But many of Tylie’s friends at the weekend protest on 4th and Broadway in downtown Pittsburg say that doesn’t sound like the Tylie they know and love.

“We believe that it was more than a suicide, and we don’t want to let it go. We want it to be investigated more. We want more answers,” said protester Destiny Adams.

Tylie’s body was found inside her home on North Warren Street last Tuesday.

She had already passed away by the time emergency responders arrived.
