Suspects wanted for crimes in Woodson and Allen counties are tied to Pittsburg officer involved shooting
Suspects still on the run for crimes in several counties after an officer involved shooting
PITTSBURG, Kan. – Pittsburg police are searching for a man and woman who are wanted on multiple charges.
The man, 28-year-old William Patton of Pittsurg is considered armed and dangerous.
On Sunday, Pittsburg police officers responded to the area around 8th and Locust where Patton and 21-year-old Kaitlyn McMurry of Girard were spotted. Police say a maroon Chevy Silverado pickup fled the scene once officers tried to contact the driver, and almost hit one of the officers. Another officer shot at the driver but it’s not known if the shot connected.
Kaitlyn McMurry was not located at the scene but Patton is believed to be the driver of the Silverado. Both are currently being sought for their warrants which include charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, criminal possession of a firearm, and more.
Earlier in the month, Patton and McMurry were accused of stealing a tractor in Woodson County. You can read about that incident here.
