Pittsburg resident arrested after Wichita man dies from knife wound
WICHITA, Kan. – A man stabbed Saturday night in Wichita, Kansas has died from his injuries. Now, a Pittsburg man could be charged with murder.
On Jan. 11th, Wichita police officers responded to an assault call around 5:10 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of North Spruce. They got there and found Vincent Venturella, 19, with a severe cut to his neck.
Investigators learned Morgan Prager, 24, of Pittsburg, Kan., went to the home and a disturbance happened between the two men.
Authorities say Prager cut Venturella with a knife then left. Wichita police called the Pittsburg Police Department after learning that’s where Prager lives. Pittsburg officers arrested him for attempted first-degree murder that same day.
Authorities took Prager to Sedgwick County and booked him into jail on a $500,000 bond.
EMS took Venturella to an area hospital for medical treatment. He died from his injuries on Monday.
Wichita police say this was not a random incident. They believe Venturella and Prager were in an ongoing disturbance over an ex-girlfriend to one of the men and a sister to the other.
The investigation is ongoing and the case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office.
