Members of the Pittsburg area business community came together Thursday night at Pittsburg’s Memorial Auditorium for the Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2014 Annual Banquet. The chamber recognized several outstanding businesses and individuals at the event.

Award Winners:

Spirit of Pittsburg – Steve Robb

Small Business of the Year – Kannarr Eye Care

Employer of the Year – Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas

Educator of the Year – Paul Hanney, Westside Elementary School

Outstanding Chamber Volunteer of the Year – Diane Cunningham, KOAM-TV

Business Education Alliance Bill Coleman Business Partner of the Year – Bruce Remsberg, Professional Engineering Consultants

Business Education Alliance Jerry Lindberg Volunteer of the Year – Chris Moore, Pittsburg Police Department

Business Education Alliance Education Partner of the Year Award – Koeta Bryant

Finalists for the Small Business of the Year Award were The Finishing Touch, Jim Radell Construction, and Kannarr Eye Care.

The finalists for the Educator of the Year Award were Veronica Ausemus from Westside Elementary, Kristen O’Brien from St. Mary’s Elementary School, and Paul Hanney from Westside Elementary.
