Pitt State football enters top-25 ahead of home opener

PITTSBURG, Kan. – The Pittsburg State Gorillas are back in the national rankings.

The Gorillas are #23 in the latest AFCA Division II Coaches Poll released on Tuesday morning. Northwest Missouri (#4) is the only other MIAA school in the AFCA top-25, with UCM, Washburn, Fort Hays State and Nebraska-Kearney all receiving votes.

Pittsburg State started the season last Thursday with a 36-15 win over #13 Central Missouri (GAME HIGHLIGHTS) – This Saturday the Gorillas will play their home opener at Carnie Smith Stadium, hosting the Nebraska-Kearney Lopers at 7 PM.
