“Our expectations and goals for this upcoming season are to simply be competitive in every game we play. We always want to win state championships, district championships, and make the playoffs, but we have really tried to focus on the things that we can control and that is being our best every time we step on the field.”

Five Year Trend (Playoffs)

  • 2020: 4-5 (First Round)
  • 2019: 4-6 (No Playoffs)
  • 2018: 6-5 (First Round)
  • 2017: 6-4 (First Round)
  • 2016: 9-2 (Second Round)

Dylan Terry finishes his first season as leader of the Wyandotte Bears with a 4-5 record and a first-round playoff exit. Despite the unpredictability that COVID-19 brought on the season, Terry was pleased with his group’s cohesiveness. “The best part of last season was seeing our young men develop into a real team and really care about each other,” Terry says. The Bears came to a mutual understanding, of what it takes to compete at the top and are prepared to work towards that goal this upcoming season.

The Wyandotte Bears will look a bit different this year. Last year, their experienced players led the offensive and defensive lines, but in 2021, it will come from the skill positions, where depth and experience is now plentiful. “We graduated a good group of offensive and defensive linemen, and now our current players are continuing to work hard every day to fill those roles,” Terry says. The key to success for this Bears team will center around physicality and toughness. Quarterback Brady Lofland, senior lineman Jevon Parmley and sophomore Isaiah Wallin will be leading the way. “These young men have shown a desire to be the best they can be to their teammates and coaches” Terry says. “They have all taken responsibility for our team and in helping everyone improve.”
