“We graduated a very good and large senior class of 9 players. We will need several players to step up and earn starting positions and fill leadership roles on and off the field.”

Five Year Trend (Playoffs)

  • 2020: 6-5 (Sectional Round)
  • 2019: 4-6 (Second Round)
  • 2018: 1-8 (First Round)
  • 2017: 4-5 (No Playoffs)
  • 2016: 2-7 (No Playoffs)

The Eagles finished the 2020 season with a 6-5 record and as regional champions. They also went 2-0 in the league, earning them a second championship. The Eagles’ season came to an end in the sectional round of the state tournament. They forfeited to Olpe, the eventual state champions, due to COVID. The game would’ve given Uniontown a chance at revenge, having loss to Olpe 48-2 at the end of September. The Eagles also fell to Lyndon during the regular season, a team that Stark says in also one of the best in the state.

The biggest challenge facing the Eagles this upcoming season will be replacing last year’s talented senior class. Sophomore Andrew Buckman will be competing for the QB job. “We hope to be able to run the ball effectively and have a strong play action passing game,” Stark says. Three starters return to the offensive line, which will be led by Korbin Miller and Rylan Lee. Miller will also lead the defensive line. Senior Luke Perry will add veteran leadership in the Eagles secondary. “We will play alignment and assignment sound and play with great effort,” Stark says. Uniontown faces a tough schedule. Olpe and Lyndon are top teams in the state and the Eagles will face them both, in week four and week eight, respectively. The Eagles will look to play to their strengths: good depth and a solid strength and conditioning program.
