School Colors: Red, White and Blue

Head Coach: Criss Davis (28th season)

Assistant coaches: Jeff Wyrick (OL/DL), Tell Wyrick (TE/DE), Nick Dupuis (RB/LB) and Travis Young (SE/DB)

“We only graduated four seniors last year, so we have a lot of returning starters back this season. I’m really looking for all of my seniors to step up this year and be leaders.”

Five Year Trend (Playoffs)

  • 2020: 6-3 (First Round)
  • 2019: 5-4 (First Round)
  • 2018: 6-3 (First Round)
  • 2017: 8-3 (First Round)
  • 2016: 9-3 (Second Round)

Caney Valley got off to a hot start last season, winning their first four games. They lost three of their last five, including a first-round playoff loss to Prairie View, but still finished above .500 on the season with a 6-3 overall record. “Going 6-3 and only having four seniors on our team last year gives us something to look forward to this year,” coach Davis says, “The biggest challenges were COVID-19, and also playing in a tough district and knowing there wasn’t any room to not come out and play well every Friday night.”

Caney Valley has been in charge of the Tri-Valley for a few years now. They’re sitting in a good spot to do it again in 2021, returning most of their roster from last season. “We need to have a strong, positive attitude every day, and that will lead to great leadership on the field,” coach Davis says, “Our goal this season is to be more competitive each time we walk onto the field and believe that we can win.” The regular season has been their friend the last few years, but it’s been their district opponents that have given them problems the last couple years. It will once again be a tough district. The Bullpups will try to get over the hump and try to get out of the first round of the playoff for the first time since 2016 this season.
