Pie auction returns to Seneca

The Seneca Fire Department held their 2nd annual pie auction following their town’s 4th of July parade.

Community members gathered at the city park to bid on 34 donated pies in support of the fire department.

Proceeds from the pie auction went directly to the Seneca Firemen’s Fund.

Seneca Fire Chief Darren King says this pie auction is essential for the department, just in case of a rainy day.

“When the city of Seneca is on a tight budget, we buy things that they can’t when they need help. It all goes back to the fire department, so it all goes back to the city,” said King.

The 2nd annual pie auction raised a little more than $3000 for the Seneca Fireman’s Fund.
