Pickup overturns in crash, landing back on its wheels; Driver wearing seatbelt escapes injury
Ofc. Darrell Klink of the Joplin Police Dept emphasizes the pickup driver escaped injury due to wearing his seat belt.
JOPLIN, Mo. — Just before 4:15 p.m. Friday, Joplin Dispatch were alerted to a crash at 44th and South Rangeline, involving two vehicles. One pickup overturned and came to rest on its wheels.
Joplin Fire Dept, Joplin Police Dept, and Newton County Ambulance responded.
On the scene we learn from Ofc Darrell Klink that no one was injured.
Two vehicles involved included a light gray passenger car, suffering front end damage.
And the Dodge Ram 1500 pickup involved was obviously totaled, with extensive damage to the cab from overturning. Ofc Klink tells us the adult male driver in the pickup was wearing his seatbelt, otherwise he would have suffered serious injuries.
Comer’s Wrecker and Chuck’s Towing removed the two vehicles from the crash scene which was cleared about an hour later.
MoDOT Emergency Response assisted with traffic control during the incident.
