Pet Vet on call (1/19/2022)

The question for this week’s Pet Vet on call: “My rabbit has been experiencing fur loss n his nose. What could be the reason for this?” Dr. Eva Dudek of Parsons Pet Hospital has the answer.

According to Dr. Dudek, the furry friend may be rooting under something, or chewing through the cage and rubbing its fur off. Rabbits need items to chew on, so the issue could be dental issues or boredom. Environmental enrichment is very important for confined animals, so if there are no dental problems, make sure the rabbit has enough to chew on to keep him happy.
