Peggy LaVerne Spencer of Quapaw, OK passed from this life Saturday, June 18, 2022 at her home. She was 70.
Peggy was born May 13, 1952 in Baxter Springs, KS to Charles Theodore and Barbara Ann (Barnes) Wilson. She had lived in the Peoria area all her life. Peggy had worked as a cashier at C-Mart in Baxter Springs, KS and L&M Convenience Store in Commerce, OK. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Quapaw, OK and was a member of the Shawnee Tribe, Delaware Tribe and adopted Cherokee Tribe
Peggy was preceded in death by her first husband Terry L. Spencer in September 22, 1994, 1 granddaughter Hailey Spencer, her parents and 1 brother, Joe Wilson.
Survivors include her husband David Fitzgerald of the home, 1 son, Terry Lee Spencer of Spring Hill, FL, 4 daughters, Carla Cox and husband Kevin of Galena, KS, Melissa Wisdon and husband Donnie of Vinita, OK, Linsey Spencer of Kansas City, MO and Samantha Spencer of the home, 2 brothers, Charles “Bull” Wilson of Wyandotte, OK and Gerald “Quat” Wilson of Belton, TX, 2 sisters, Charletta Fair of Quapaw, OK and Elizabeth “Sis” Jacobs of Quapaw, OK, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Sandy Captain Cultural Building in Seneca, MO. Native rites will be conducted by Shawn King. Interment will be in Ottawa Indian Cemetery, SE of Miami, OK. Scotty Evans, David Patton, Robert Mathis, Lloyd Guilford, Danny Kible and Ricky Jacobs will serve as pallbearers and Bruce Needham will serve as honorary pallbearer. Peggy will lie in state at Sandy Captain Building. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
