Pauline (Polly) Lenora Rodgers

Pauline (Polly) Lenora Rodgers, age 96, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at the Lawrence County Manor in Mt. Vernon. She was born February 8, 1925, in Hartford, Arkansas, the daughter of Paul James and Addie Lee (McCuistion) Wendorff.
Pauline (Polly) worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Missouri Chest Hospital in Mt. Vernon for over 30 years and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for over 50 years. After retiring she did some in home health care and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She loved to travel and went all over the United States, Hawaii, and took a singing boat cruise on the Big Red Boat to the Bahamas. She loved going to Branson to see shows, going to the movies, laughing and going fishing.
On February 8, 1970, she married George Roland Rodgers, in Mt. Vernon. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1972.
Pauline (Polly) is survived by two daughters, Jean Smith (Jon) of Aurora, Missouri and Carol Downey (Sid) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; six grandchildren, Joe Smith of Cabot, Arkansas, Janine Konstanzer (Joe) of Aurora, Missouri, Janelle Andrus (Bob) and Jonna Nunn, all of Springfield, Missouri, Ken Stanford (Brenda) of Spokane, Missouri and Misti Vigliotti (David) of Sierra Vista, Arizona; fifteen great-grandchildren; Jessica Cockro (James), Jami McCaully (Tyler) and Britainy Smith, all of Cabot, Arkansas; Deven Head of Joplin, Missouri, Brock and Broznann Andrus of Springfield, Missouri, Miki Andrus-Bearden (Justin) of Kansas City, Missouri, Katie Pennington (Keith) and Meagan Nunn of Springfield, Missouri, Kelsey Nunn of St. Joseph, Missouri, Sam, Kathleen and Christian Stanford of Nixa, Missouri, and Logan and Blake Booher of Sierra Vista, Arizona; ten great-great grandchildren, Kaylee, Emberlyn, Sophia, Peyton, Ellie, Asher, Westlee, Klaire, Nova and Peyton; two adopted great-great grandchildren, Kendra and Isaiah; two step great-great grandchildren, Kenzie and Mason and several nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and friends.
Pauline (Polly) was preceded in death by her mother, Addie Lee Noble; her father, Paul Wendorff; two sons, Leon and Ray Stanford; two husbands, Herbert Lore and Roland Rodgers; three sisters, Ruth Donais, Firn Henderson and Jeanette Juline and one brother, Ralph Henderson.
A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. in funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made payable to the First Baptist Church Endowment Fund, Habitat for Humanity, or the Samaritans Purse, in care of the funeral home.
