Parsons police detective tests positive for Coronavirus.
PARSONS, Ks. – The Parsons Police Department said that one of their officers has tested positive for COVID-19, and that the Labette County Health Department has been informed of the situation.
They say upon noticing symptoms early last week, the officer self-quarantined before arranging testing.
Police officials also say the officer is a detective who was not currently on patrol assignment, and has been working at the Police Annex that’s separated from headquarters.
Two additional officers have been placed in self-quarantine as a precaution due to this situation.
“These actions will not have an effect on the ability of the Parsons Police Department to maintain regular patrols nor on the number of officers on the street,” said City Manager Debbie Lamb.
