Painting at The Candy House

A group of painters get together to create wonderful art with a candy theme.

tSunday at the Candy House, the “Day-Trippers” of South West Missouri got together to paint candy. The group paints at mostly outdoor locations like Shoal Creek and Red Oak Two in Carthage.

Helen Kunze says the group usually has just a few hours to paint, but that doesn’t stop the creations and fun time with friends.

“It’s just a challenge to see what you can produce, like Kristin said earlier it’s kind of like gambling, sometimes you end up with something good and sometimes you don’t” says Kunze.

The group was limited because of space, but as many as 15 artists have participated at different locations.

One of the next places the group plans to go to is the George Washington Carver National Monument.
