Osborne enters plea deal in stabbing death of Shawn Rockers

JOPLIN, Mo. – Michael Osborne enters a plea deal in the stabbing death of Shawn Rockers in Joplin, Missouri.

Osborne, originally charged with first degree murder, pleaded guilty to second degree murder. He was scheduled to go to trial this month, but instead is now scheduled to be sentenced in December.

Detectives say on January 11, 2019, Rockers was found at 3rd and Connor in the roadway. He died at Freeman Hospital from a stab wound.

After a witness came forward, police got an arrest warrant for Osborne. According to a witness, the two men had an altercation about a week before the stabbing. The witness says they heard Osborne state that he was going to kill Rockers.

Detectives determined Osborne was heading west and reached out to U.S. Marshals who arrested him in Washington on January 30th.
