Orval Lee Fick
February 28, 1945 - August 23, 2021
Lee Fick, age 76, industrial designer, died Monday, August 23, 2021. Lee was born February 28, 1945 in Eureka, KS, the son of Norma Jean (Evenson) and Orval Oliver Fick. He was a man of immense creativity, talent, wit, and humor. He was a natural athlete as well as an avid hunter and life-long fisherman. He liked to carve items out of basswood while watching TV, always busy.
One of his most endearing gifts from his Maker was his sense of humor and his ability to bring laughter and fun to family and friends, no matter the situation. His dear sister Gloria Jean Meeker, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2021, shared this wonderful attribute as well. All of us who knew and loved them are blessed with a continuous supply of happy, joy-filled memories.
Lee is survived by his wife Phyllis (Denney) Fick, son Wayne Fick, Joplin, MO, daughter Amy Fick, Lawrence, KS, brother Rob Fick, Los Angeles, CA, brother-in-law Dale Denney, Topeka, KS, nieces Angela Gallogly and Dana Wood, both of Rowlette, TX, Megan Ackerman of Topeka, KS, and nephew Jason Denney of Olathe, KS, plus many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
